The Harden team penning event was held with great success at the Harden Racecourse last Saturday, the 15th of March. The event raised around $1500 for the Harden Polocrosse Club to upgrade their facilities at the Harden Racecourse.

The event attracted 100 participants, with the Brewer family winning on the day with a time of 33 seconds. The estimated average time would have been around the 40 second mark.

75 riders competed in the open adult division, with 25 competing in the junior (16 years and under) division. A handful of first-time riders also competed, along with some well-known local names.

100 cattle were donated for the event and transported to racecourse free of charge.                       “I would like to thank the Weston family, Chris Ward and Kevin Bradford for donating cattle for the event,” said event organiser, Chris Bunny. “I would also like to thank them and Bernie Minogue for carting the cattle.”

The event will hopefully be held at the same time next year.
