Parents are being empowered to help their children become confident and resilient learners, through an innovative program being offered at Trinity.

THRIVE is a parent group established by Trinity parent Wendy Bowman and supported by Learning Support Teacher Anne Glover. Wendy could see that through accessing a range of health and education professionals, parents could be given skills to help their children expand their learning capabilities. Wendy recognised that there are myriad of programs available through the internet but navigating their way through and being discerning about the best approaches for their children could become overwhelming for parents.

The THRIVE group provides parents with the opportunity to interact and have access to a wide range of professionals who have simple ideas and strategies that parents can use to increase a child’s ability to learn as well as being beneficial to their general health and well-being.

So far this year Optometrist Janine Hobson, Occupational Therapist Jose Webber and Yoga and Meditation expert Skye Regan have volunteered their time and expertise to highlight for parents signs of possible learning issues and stress related symptoms, and strategies to assist children to continue to move forward in their growth and development.

The THRIVE program is seen as a vital component of the team approach at Trinity where parents are encouraged to be a positive part of their child’s education and are integral to Trinity students achieving their learning goals.

All parents from the Harden Murrumburrah community are welcome to attend. Please see our newsletter on the Trinity website or phone the school for details of the next gathering.
