The Binalong Boozers claimed the A Grade Grand Final in wet conditions on Thursday night. The match was played at a frenetic pace with the crowd staying on the sideline to spectate enduring the light rain until the heavens broke wide open.

Try scorers for Binalong were Jess Howard, Phil Sparnon and Tash Goode whilst playmaker Chris Rawlinson bagged a double. Rawlinson slid over for one of his tries by diving some 3 or 4 metres from the try line.

Jack Quinn and Josh Barker got a try a piece for Landmark as the game went from one end of the field to the other in the majority of the sets. The young Landmark side will continue to improve at a great rate over the next couple of seasons and have become a very dangerous side to play against.

Olivia Doolan and Charlie Lucas scored a try a piece for Delta in the win over Johnos’ Painting in the B Grade Grand Final in a heated match that was closer than the score indicates.

In a high scoring fixture Kennett Rural took out the C Grade Grand Final 5-3 against The Nobodies, with Craig McCoy and Charlie Hufton touching down whilst team mate James Daley bagged a treble.

Patrick Smith, Jordan Menz and Lilly Potts all got on the scoreboard with one try each. Harrison Back managed two tries and was assisted by Fergus Backs’ solo effort when Harden Rugby Club downed the HTS Hornets 3-1. Dean McGrath got the only try for the Hornets in a close match that saw Harrison run 30 metres to put the game away.

The E Grade Grand Final was taken out by Touch Field 3-0. Robert Scott Electrical were valiant in defeat as the young side took on the more experienced Touch Field outfit. Jarrod Whatman got a meat pie and Harrison Forsyth managed two for the winning side.

The Harden Touch Football competition continues to be an excellent example of how community spirit and hard work can achieve great results. The hard work carried out by the organisers to provide the district with such a professional and enjoyable model should not go unnoticed.

Congratulation to all teams for playing in the competition and we look forward to seeing you again next year.
