The Harden Hawks surprised all at the weekend when they competed in the Harden Super 7s Rugby Tournament on Saturday. The temperatures rose with the humidity and the toll could be seen on the players faces over the day.

The Hawks used the hit-out to check their fitness and skill levels and coach Luke Brown was able to give many younger players a chance to impress.

The Hawks showed that they know how to tackle with Jacob West and Nic Fuller handing the opposition some damaging tackles over the course of the day. Some of the skills at the breakdown let the side down however the Hawks were ferocious in attack and defence leaving sides wondering that they may have to play them twice.

Several of their matches were lost only by a conversion or a run away try. The Harden side finished at the top of Group B which placed them 4th out of the 8 sides that competed.

Coach Luke Brown sufferred a nasty cork late in the day and will be recieving treatment later this week so that he can return to training.

The Hawks have a trial match coming up soon against Binalong with the date to be advised in the newspaper.
