The Harden Race Course will be abuzz this weekend as 140 entrants converge on the course to compete over 2 days for the title of the best Team Penning side in the region.

Competition starts at 9am on both Saturday and Sunday. Entry is free to spectators and everyone is welcome to attend. Teams consisting of 3 members will compete over the day.

Paul O’Connor said the event has been made possible through the genorosity of the community. The cattle used on the day will be on loan from Chris Ward, Peter and Kevin Bradford, Peter Brown and the Weston family. Paul Shea has helped with electrical work on the facilities and Bernie Minogue will be transporting the animals from the farms to the course. Lindsay Miller of Boorowa has also made the leather collars for the beasts.

Money raised from the event will go towards improving the facilities. Paul said the committee is hoping to build a new multi-purpose area with a kitchen and bar that could also be used as an entertainment area or to escape bad weather during meets.

Chris Bunny and Todd Spackman have also been instrumental in organising the event. A Stockmans Challenge will be held on Saturday night and will be run by Mick Roberts.

The annual polocrosse tournament will be held in June and will celebrate 60 years of the sport in the town.
